What voters need to know
Election Day voting hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time at every polling place, and a voter who is inside or waiting to enter the polling place at 7 p.m. may still vote (Election Code 41.031-41.032). Mail ballots count if they arrive by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, or by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, if postmarked by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day at the location of the election (different deadlines apply to some overseas and military voters). Under the federal time-zone regulation (49 CFR 71.7), only El Paso and Hudspeth counties are on Mountain time; Culberson County is legally on Central time.
