Polls in Minnesota close at 8:00 PM CST (9:00 PM ET) on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
What voters need to know
State law sets general-election voting hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; some small towns (fewer than 500 residents, outside the Twin Cities metro area) may start voting as late as 10 a.m. Anyone waiting in the polling place or in line at the door at 8 p.m. must be allowed to vote. Absentee ballots must arrive by 8 p.m. on Election Day (later arrivals are marked late and not counted), and ballots returned in person must reach the county auditor or municipal clerk by 5 p.m. on Election Day.
