What voters need to know
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central time and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain time, so every Nebraska polling place closes at the same moment (9 p.m. ET). Early-voting (mail) ballots must arrive at the county election office by the close of polls (8 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. MT); this is a receipt deadline, not a postmark deadline. Eleven counties (Boone, Cedar, Cherry, Clay, Dawes, Dixon, Garden, Knox, Merrick, Morrill and Stanton) conduct elections entirely by mail, and voters there may vote in person at the county election office on Election Day.
