The rule
UPS's U.S. holiday page: 'UPS is closed on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. UPS Express Critical service is still available.' On those days there's no UPS pickup or delivery, UPS Air and Ocean Freight is closed, and only some The UPS Store locations open (independently owned; hours vary). The 2026 schedule also lists Easter Sunday and Mother's Day as no-pickup, no-delivery days. On federal holidays UPS doesn't observe (Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day), pickup and delivery run normally but UPS Ground Saver and UPS Mail Innovations deliveries take one extra business day because they rely on USPS. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve have restricted pickups (Air and international Air only, prearranged), and New Year's Eve has Air-only delivery. When July 4, 2026 fell on a Saturday, UPS treated Saturday as the holiday and was open Friday, July 3 (except UPS Air and Ocean Freight). UPS Express Critical (Marken, 1-800-714-8779) runs every day of the year. UPS has published dates through Jan. 1, 2027; its 2027 schedule isn't out yet.
From UPS's published schedules, checked October 7, 2026. "Expected" days follow its standing practice until it publishes them. · All holiday hours
