What voters need to know
All Tennessee polls close at the same moment: 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central, per the Secretary of State's 2026 Election Day notice, and anyone in line at closing time may vote. Each county sets its own opening time, so opening hours vary; voters can check their polling place's hours on GoVoteTN. Absentee by-mail ballots must arrive at the county election commission by the close of polls on Election Day: a receipt rule, and hand delivery is not allowed.
