What voters need to know
All polling places close at 8:00 PM, but opening times vary by town from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM depending on population (in the Secretary of State's Nov 3, 2026 voting-place list most open at 8:00 AM), so check your town's opening time. Voters present at the polling place at closing time must be given the chance to vote; by law, towns with fewer than 100 residents may close once all registered voters have voted. Absentee ballots must be returned to the municipal clerk by 8:00 PM on Election Day (a receipt deadline).
