What voters need to know
Polls are open 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. prevailing local time (Indiana Election Division 2026 calendar). Voters already in line at 6 p.m. must be allowed to vote (2026 Election Day Handbook). Absentee-by-mail ballots must be received by county election officials by 6:00 p.m. local time on Election Day, and postmarks do not count: a receipt rule. The Central-time county list comes from the federal time-zone boundary (49 CFR 71.5(b)).
