What voters need to know
Oregon votes by mail: every active registered voter is mailed a ballot, and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day is the deadline to put a ballot in an official drop box or deliver it to a county elections office (open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day). That deadline is 8:00 p.m. local time: most of Malheur County is on Mountain time (10:00 p.m. ET) and the rest of the state is on Pacific time (11:00 p.m. ET). A mailed ballot counts if it is postmarked by Election Day and received by the county elections office within 7 days after Election Day; after the U.S. Supreme Court's June 29, 2026 Watson v. RNC ruling, the Secretary of State said such ballots will be counted.
