When do polls close in Washington?
Polls in Washington close at 8:00 PM PST (11:00 PM ET) on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
What voters need to know
Washington votes by mail: every registered voter is mailed a ballot automatically, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time on Election Day is when official ballot drop boxes close and the deadline to register and vote in person at a county voting center. A mailed ballot must be postmarked no later than Election Day (Nov. 3) and received no later than the day before the county certifies results (counties certify Nov. 24, 2026); the Secretary of State says the June 29, 2026 Watson v. RNC ruling did not change this. State law requires that any voter inside or in line at a voting center at 8:00 p.m. be allowed to vote.
