SSI payment schedule
Supplemental Security Income arrives on the 1st of each month. When the 1st is a weekend or federal holiday, it comes on the business day before, so some months have two payments and some have none.

How the dates are set
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is paid on the 1st of each month, as the payment for that month. If the 1st falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, SSI is paid on the first preceding day that is not a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday. Because January 1 is always a holiday, January's SSI is always paid at the end of December. As a result some calendar months contain two SSI payments and some contain none (in 2026 no SSI payment is made in March, August or November). Exception: in a month in which someone re-establishes eligibility after a month of ineligibility, the payment is made on or after the day eligibility resumes.
Dates are SSA's published dates (Pub. 05-10031 calendars; the January 2026 payment date, December 31, 2025, is stated on SSA's COLA page). The January 2028 SSI payment is shown on SSA's 2027 calendar as 2027-12-30 (Jan 1, 2028 is a Saturday and Dec 31, 2027 is the observed New Year's holiday).
