Good to know
JCPenney announces its Thanksgiving closure and Black Friday and Christmas Eve opening times each fall on its newsroom (corporate.jcpenney.com); the 2026 announcement hadn't been posted as of Oct. 9, 2026. Hours vary by store, many stores are in malls, and JCPenney points shoppers to jcp.com/locations for local hours. Fox Business also reported in 2025 that JCPenney told it stores would close on Thanksgiving (https://www.foxbusiness.com/retail/major-retailers-restaurants-closing-thanksgiving-heres-where-you-can-still-shop-eat). The New Year's, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day entries rely on CBS News lists that don't quote the company.
