The rule
No standing rule is published: FedEx posts a yearly holiday service schedule (2026 edition runs through Jan. 2, 2027) and says dates are subject to change. The 2026 schedule does not split FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery: one 'FedEx' column 'includes all U.S. and international parcel and express freight services, except LTL freight services,' with a footnote for modified Ground pickups on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31; FedEx Office, FedEx Custom Critical and FedEx Logistics are listed separately. Pattern in 2026 (not a stated rule): FedEx closed on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day (Sat. July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas; 'modified service' (early on-call and drop box pickups, including some Drop Box closures, in some areas) on MLK Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Fri. July 3, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, the days before and after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve; open on Juneteenth. FedEx Office closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, modified hours on other closure days and the day before major holidays. FedEx Custom Critical open every day. Winter schedule: Saturday residential delivery is available to most U.S. destinations, and from Nov. 23 through Jan. 4 delivery commitment times on select time-definite FedEx Expedited services are extended by 90 minutes. 2027 dates (after Jan. 2) not yet published.
