Good to know
Wisconsin has nine state legal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. DMV customer service centers stay open on the other federal holidays (Presidents' Day, Juneteenth, Columbus Day, Veterans Day). The seven centers with Saturday morning hours are not open on legal holidays, the Saturday before Memorial Day or the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and in 2025 all centers were closed Thanksgiving Day through Saturday. We found no dated yearly DMV closure list, so every entry here is a standing rule.
From the Wisconsin DMV's holiday list or its state's holiday schedule, checked October 7, 2026. "Expected" days follow its past practice until it announces them. Office hours · All holiday hours
