Good to know
The Ohio BMV's website rejects automated requests, so we couldn't read its own holiday notices; these days rest on Ohio's state holidays as marked on the state's 2026 payroll calendar: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ohio has no state holiday for Election Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Good Friday. Deputy registrar license agencies are run by independent contractors and county officials, and many have Saturday hours, so confirm your agency's schedule in the BMV's location finder before you go. Registration and many license renewals can be done through the BMV's online services on any day.
