Good to know
The State of Michigan's website blocks automated reading, so we couldn't check the Secretary of State's current holiday list or its 2026 notices. These days rest on the office's older news releases and on reports of its closures from 2018 to 2026, which show branch offices closing on state holidays, including general Election Day in even-numbered years, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Juneteenth couldn't be confirmed from a source we could read. Many transactions can be done online, and self-service stations, many of them in grocery stores, stay available when offices are closed.
From Michigan Secretary of State offices' holiday list or its state's holiday schedule, checked October 7, 2026. "Expected" days follow its past practice until it announces them. Office hours · All holiday hours
