Bond market holidays 2026–2027

SIFMA recommends U.S. full closes for trading U.S.-dollar fixed income (government securities, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, corporate and municipal bonds, secondary money markets) on all 11 federal holidays – including Columbus Day and Veterans Day, when stocks trade – and on Good Friday, plus 2:00 p.m. ET early closes on the business day before Memorial Day, Independence Day, Christmas and New Year's Day and on the day after Thanksgiving; 2027 also has a 2:00 p.m. early close the day before Good Friday (in 2026, Good Friday itself was a 12:00 p.m. early close instead of a full close). Saturday holidays are closed the Friday before and Sunday holidays the Monday after; for New Year's Day 2028 (a Saturday) SIFMA lists only a 2:00 p.m. early close on Fri. Dec. 31, 2027.
