Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain AMG E 53 4MATIC+ WAGON vehicles. The transmission wiring harness may be routed too close to the front driveshaft, which can result in wiring harness damage and cause a loss of drive power.
Risk: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect the transmission wiring harness routing and repair it, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 6, 2026. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning December 19, 2025. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2026010001.
Enter your 17-character VIN on NHTSA's site to see which of these recalls apply to your car and whether they've been repaired. Repairs are free at any Mercedes-Benz dealer.
Recalls come from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's recall database, with the list of models updated October 7, 2026. A recall applies to some vehicles of a model year, not always all of them: your VIN tells you whether yours is included and if the free repair has been done.
