Forecaster's note
High pressure will shift off the East Coast Wednesday, persisting into Thursday. A more southerly inflow of air into the region will increase dew points and allow fine particulates to rise. However, given an initially clean residual air mass and sufficient afternoon mixing, expect Good PM2.5 levels to persist across the state. Winds return northwesterly on Friday as a secondary high pressure drops south from Canada into the Great Lakes region. A steady inflow of clean, dry Canadian air will ensure continued Good air quality across the state through the remainder of the work week. For the lates
